Art of the Folk explores folklore and mythmaking in the modern world, including how folk practices can be used as a means for people to respond to natural and political landscapes and to generate community.

Artwork from the local community is showcased. The exhibition also includes participatory art stations, where visitors can contribute to the creation of communal artworks, and spaces for rest. A video work by Cam Rolland made of footage from Common’s Procession event in September is exhibited, alongside reimaginings of performances that were situated along the Procession route.

The exhibition includes performances by Jennifer Reid, Unknown Amazon, Samm Shackleton, Bao-Yin Hall, Rhubarbs and Mr Meat Weasel, and more. It has been curated by Rachel ‘Rat’ Prince.

An online version of the exhibition will be uploaded to this website in time for the opening event.
